Our Story
WARREN EPSTEIN & ASSOCIATES, ARCHITECTS, INC., in continual operation since 1978, is a privately-owned and incorporated architectural firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. The firm’s principals, Warren M Epstein and Kyle F Epstein, have been in the private practice of architecture for over 75 years combined in this and predecessor companies.
Upon his graduation from the Georgia Institute of Technology and becoming licensed and registered, Warren M Epstein worked for Wise Simpson & Aiken, Architects, a renowned Atlanta-based firm providing services predominantly to the United States Department of Defense throughout the Southeast United States. Looking to broaden his experience, he subsequently secured in 1959 employment as an in-house architect for the Massell Companies, one of the largest commercial and industrial real estate developers in Atlanta at the time.
Some three years later, equipped with the valuable experience garnered in his first post-graduation positions, Warren sought to begin to chart his own course, incorporating Warren M Epstein, AIA, in 1962 at a time when perhaps no more than twenty firms existed on the Atlanta landscape. He continued providing architectural services to Massell and its successor companies as well as other notable and reputable real estate developers in Atlanta and the Southeast. During this period, Warren M Epstein, AIA, designed Fan & Bill’s Restaurant and The Diplomat, among the first 5-star fine dining establishments in the Atlanta market.
A subsequent business partnership evolved in the late 1960s during the design of Or VeShalom, Atlanta’s first and only Sephardic Jewish synagogue. The firm designed among many other noteworthy projects Ellman’s catalogue showroom facilities throughout the Southeast, and, in 1978 the firm of WARREN EPSTEIN & ASSOCIATES, ARCHITECTS, INC. was established, which provided continuity in some client relationships which had and continued to exist for 30 years or more.
